Silver and gold exploration in the Deseado Massif
Deseado Resources is a privately held exploration company advancing the Don Adamo project, a 73,000 ha silver-gold property in one of Latin America’s most productive precious metals districts.
Deseado Resources is a privately held exploration company advancing the Don Adamo project, a 73,000 ha silver-gold property in one of Latin America’s most productive precious metals districts.
The Deseado Massif hosts 9 operating mines and 12 advanced projects, with a combined metal endowment of about 44 Moz gold equivalent (Au:Ag 1:80).
Don Adamo covers 73,000 ha owned by Yacimientos Patagónicos and operated by Deseado Resources under an exploration and option-to-purchase agreement.
At Ciclón Este, 85 of 1,200 surface channel samples returned more than 200 g/t Ag, with a maximum of 4,249 g/t Ag.
Explored by Polimet/Yamana, Coeur d’Alene Mines, Yacimientos Patagónicos and Minera Santa Cruz (Hochschild). The full drilling and surface database is in hand.
Ciclón Este appears to be the distal, partly exposed edge of a larger low-sulphidation epithermal system that continues beneath younger ignimbrite cover.
A two-phase, 8,000 m drill program: first to deliver discovery intercepts, then to define the size and continuity of the mineralized bodies.
Don Adamo spans more than 73,000 ha in the Deseado Massif, close to several of the region’s largest gold deposits and backed by infrastructure on its doorstep: Provincial Route 39 connecting to National Route 40, a regional airport and high-tension power lines. The property has been explored intermittently since 1998, building a base of 278 drill holes and more than 2,000 surface samples.
Discover the projectA silver-rich vein and veinlet system hosted in a rhyolitic dome, with a 1,200 m northwest-trending main structure and four north-northeast veins extending a further 1,400 m. The limits of the system are not yet known, and much of it is interpreted to lie beneath a 40 m ignimbrite cover to the south.
